I'm Back - Portland Food

We are home from our trip to Portland, Oregon and we had a great time visiting with my son, his fiance and our grand-baby Nolan.   We celebrated our belated Christmas with our Portland family while we were there.  Here is a shot of Nolan loving on his Poppy.  We miss this baby so much when we come home.  I don't think I will ever get accustomed to being away from him.  We are already planning our next trip to the Pacific Northwest.  He is my sunshine!

Portland is a great city with so much great food that I have to share some of it with you over the next few days.  Portland is definitely a foodie’s paradise!

Today I will tell you about Frank’s Noodle House, they serve a mix of Chinese and Korean foods.  At Frank’s they make their own noodles fresh and they are unlike anything I have ever eaten.  The fresh noodles  are stir-fried with meat or vegetarian style and you also choose the level of spice/heat from 1 to 4. I chose a level 1 and the Noodles with Beef I ordered was absolutely perfect! I also had the opportunity to try kimchee for the first time and I really liked it.  I saw several customers order Handmade Noodle Soup which was brought out in large soup urns with lids, large servings that smelled amazing.  At our table we ordered a variety of items including Spring Rolls, Hot and Sour Soup, Egg Flower Soup, Handmade Noodles and Pork Belly, Shrimp Fried Rice, Handmade Noodles and Beef and Kimchee.

Franks Noodle House was featured on an episode of The Food Networks Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, which I have not seen yet but plan to watch soon.

If you are ever visiting Portland take time to stop and eat at Frank’s Noodle House
